The streamlined, rounded frame was considered quite fashionable for a portable machine when it first appeared, but it was also a very capable typewriter.
Among its features are the low-profile key levers to accommodate the small case profile, a lockable shift key; a red paper scale for greater visibility; an unusual “Self Starter” key that advances the carriage five (5) spaces each time it is pushed; settable right and left margins; a margin release key and a 3-position ribbon selector position with red, black and stencil settings (even though this machine has an all-black ribbon installed).
Also unusual is the machine’s gear operated key levers, which produce a more responsive, precise-feeling key stroke.
The body of this typewriter has been repainted but the “Remington Rand” decal on the front edge is still readable throughout the paint.
The original case shows wear but is still intact and functional.
